The kick-off meeting of the InnoLOG project, was held on last June 14th to June 16th June in Barcelona and Vilanova i la Geltrú.
The project main objective is to improve the performance and efficiency of the geophysical exploration tools to enhance the identification of specific minerals and mineral deposits, providing solutions to raw materials companies improving the efficiency and sustainability of the surveys. ICTJA-CSIC researcher, María José Jurado, is the project coordinator. INNOLOG partners are:the GCCC of Catalonia from Spain, CNR from Italy, the GeoZS from Slovakia, the SGU from Sweden; CSIC, UPC, UPM and the mining company Magnesitas Navarras from Spain are the partners of this European consortium.
Partners presentations and also organizative issues, project priorities, workplan and workpackages tasks and coordination were discussed. A schedule of the upcoming project activities and tasks was defined.
Presentations from the different INNOLOG partners covered the expertise, facilities and plans of the partners in the frame of the INNOLOG project as part of the work sessions of the meeting.
CLC South EIT Raw Materials General Manager, Pier Luigi Franceschini, opened the meeting with an introductory remote presentation of KIC-CLC. Also during the first day of the meeting the participants visited the ICTJA-CSIC facilities and labs including the downhole research laboratory and Almera-1 and Almera-2 boreholes of particular interest for INNOLOG
Next InnoLOG general meeting will be held in 2018 in Slovenia.
